It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to work closely with Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals as Miss Arkansas! I usually dont share stories about the amazing kids I meet at Childrens but after talking with her family, we decided that Maria Flores was just too special not to talk about! A couple of weeks ago, I was able to visit Maria at Arkansas Childrens hospital, and I can honestly say that I was inspired by the amount of strength and positive energy that she possessed. Maria is a Diamond State Princess, the mentor program for younger girls, and has been for two years now. This year, when getting ready for the pageant, she decided that brain surgery would just have to wait because she was going to Miss Arkansas. I am so proud of you, Maria, and so glad to have met your family during our visit! Youre a beautiful girl, a fighter, and a role model already; I cant wait to see where life takes you and I wish you the very best as you recover over the next few weeks!
