It is upon the convergence of totally unrelated mind jerking experiences that I think I may have stumbled upon a solution to save our democracy. I say mind jerking because every time I see these people buying $30-$40 worth of lotto tickets, after serious considerations and checking their slips for accuracy or something else that eludes me, I go into these logic spasms. Now comes colliding, the reality of our shutdown politics and an idea occurs to me. We love the lotto, perhaps it might be time to legislate that all political office should be determined by lottery. Everyone is entered. Everyone might become subject to bearing the responsibility of our future. The tumblers are falling in place as I consider the objections. I have all the answers and will expect a serious monument in my image as a refounder of our restored democracy.
