It is very clear that white Americans of all political and religious persuasions (with the exception of those who have made conscious decisions to move beyond white privilege in one form or another, i. e, intermarriage, joining with predominantly Black churches and secular organizations and schools where Blacks are in leadership, living in predominantly Black communities and sending your kids to school with Black and Brown kids etc), believe that law enforcement is our friend or is neutral and police officers only harass, kill, maim and abuse criminals, those resisting arrest or must have done something wrong. No person of color, no matter how logical and persuasive our arguments, will ever remove those rose colored glasses from your eyes. You and you alone can remove them--just lose your fear of discovering that my truth might be true, by taking them off for just a day or two.
