It is very interesting to note that some senior officials of Public Works department have chosen to take the fall for the Nkandla jupgrades and just by looking at the sentences given to them, one can beyond reasonable doubt conclude that its just a way of getting the issue out of the public eye as soon as possible. Itumeleng Molosi (58), the departments director of projects has been the first to take his head to the gallows for Msholozi and the corruption that happened during the upgrade. Molosi though having admitted to being guilty of flouting processes in appointing service providers will keep his job and was just slapped with a two month suspension without pay and a final written warning. To me the main concern is that President Zuma still benefits from all this because though the officials claim they were in the wrong, the cattle kraals, firepools, amphitheatre and all non security upgrades to his house still remain as a benefit to him and his family. Secondly the expediency of this disciplinary action seeks to prevent opposition parties from asking about when he will pay back the money because response will be that there are people who have claimed guilt for the upgrades. We must remember that the EFF among others came out very clear that Zuma will firstly have to answer when and how much he will pay before he can give the State Of The Nations Address (SONA) next year. So to me this is one of the tactics to prevent Zuma from the embarrassment of being hackled during the time when the eyes of the whole country, continent and world would be on South Africa. To the EFF and all other parties that vowed to not allow Zuma to give the SONA before answering the pay back the money question, I say these cheap evasion tactics should not stop you from your resolve. Zuma must get the greatest embarrassment of his life because he too has been an embarrassment to us as a nation and he has also embarrassed our state by showing its loose control mechanisms and how easy it is to rob the people of their tax money for self gratification. Zuma must pay back the money
