It is very opportunistic to declare that one single individual in the person of Cele can be the panacea and absolute solution for a SYSTEMIC issue of crime in this country.To think this way is to be lazy very unscientific, and the suggestion borders on glorification of an individual. There are many in our criminal justice system who are doing their best, but the system itself is faulty and cant be corrected by imposing one individual on it. If we are really concerned and serious about adressing the spiralling crime in this country, we will have to come with a WHOLE STIC approach that does not depend on one single individual, whom if he dies tomorrow we will back at square one. No where in the world has any systemic and deeply fractured system ever been solved by one single individual. South Africa needs to think better if we are to turn around the problem of crime in this country, I submit.
