It is very sad to watch how everyone dislikes Christmas now. I often ask customers if they are looking forward to it, or are getting excited. The answer is often no. They share their frustrations and anticipation for it to be over. This scripture from the Book of Mormon comes to mind when I think how important Christ is to this ungrateful world. For behold, if the flesh should rise no more our spirits must become subject to that angel who fell from before the presence of the Eternal God, and became the devil, to rise no more. And our spirits must have become like unto him, and we become devils, angels to a devil, to be shut out from the presence of our God, and to remain with the father of lies, in misery, like unto himself. Likewise, the familiar carol teaches the same concept: To save us all from Satans power when we were gone astray If people could only realize how sacred and essential the name Jesus Christ is, they would then see this time of celebration as a sacred privilege. It is disturbing to see the Holy One chucked aside like a candy wrapper. Especially after all He has done for the world. I hope we will spend our Christmas spreading His name, His light, and His love. May we give proper respect to the Savior and look to Him this Christmas. We will get a lot farther with Him than with toys. We need to take time and thank God for Him. Truly the prophets who wrote the scriptures had a profound understanding of Christs importance when they wrote: I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
