It is well past Gin and Tonic time at the Garagery, but I have just finished pulling kitties at SBC along with two other rescues, which resulted in a CLEAN SWEEP of all past due and due out today cats, kittens, moms and babies, sweet and fearful, cute and not quite so cute, sick and skinny, and, oops, no fat and sassy in that shelter! Some had pledges, some had nothing but hope and compassion behind them. Several underage were also swept up by us, and we rustled one little orange guy without the clerks noticing. I now know how to throw down a diversion while a second person flees with the kitten. We were there so long they locked the gate before we got out. There was no problem getting paperwork done after 4:30 PM today, although Debbie stuck her nose in to see what all the commotion was about. It was quite fun as we compared lists, culled some from one rescue to another, grabbed some that would not have made it except room was made at the Inn by the other group pulling something on our list. I have a feeling we dont get the truly desirable ones, the beauties, the pledged for, but, by God, we get the ones who need us the most. I feel like an auctioneer sometimes, gonna take this one, gonna take this one, fearful, not so fearful, come on, gotta take this one. I still havent vacuumed the house, the Cattery, or myself (gosh that kitty litter sticks!), but I still feel a little happy dance coming on. Karen would be happy, she can sleep well, knowing everyone is safe.
