It is widely recognised that preschool access is essential, as the early childhood period is among the most important stages of life. Educational experts have warned that "A failure to carry out a timely intervention cannot be corrected in later years". In Indonesia, the government has reported that only 37.8% of the nation’s children under age six have access to early childhood education programs. The government faces a tough challenge if it wishes to meet its goal of increasing that access to 72% by 2014, and the key challenges are due to budget reasons and a lack of funds limiting the construction of new preschools. Conversely, the Singapore government has in the past few years, especially following the last major review of preschool education in 2008, improved the accessibility, affordability and quality of preschool education through strategies and programmes to enhance teacher, programme and centre quality. Steady progress has been made, and the Government will now step up its efforts to accelerate the quality improvements in the sector as can be attest by recent significant changes and fundamentals shift. As a preschool partner in Singapore, Le-SOUL (The School Of Universal Learning) works alongside preschools to provide comprehensive advice and tailor-fitted support to develop a high-quality and holistic learning environment that children and parents love and are engaged with. Our aim is to be a partner in increasing the quality of the preschool education in Singapore through structural, methodological, and service platforms; making our programmes affordable to all regardless of races, family backgrounds, religions and diverse cultures. This is what we strive to achieve.
