It is with a heavy heart and not without a certain degree of relief that I report the passing of my father, Leo Nothstine, age 97 yrs, 2 months and 10 days. Dad was born on Aug 19th, 1916 in Mancelona Michigan to Ray and Wilma Nothstine. He passed away peacefully yesterday morning 29 Oct, during his usual morning nap. Dad married our mom, Laura Florence Bartholow of Coffeyville KS, on June 7th, 1941. He, as well as my departed mom, willed their bodies to the Michigan Stage University School of Medicine, so there will be no funeral. While my dad was not ill he was quite feeble due to his weak heart. He kept his sound mind to the very end and for that we are forever thankful, and thankful as well for his long, prosperous and productive life. A shout out to the men and women who staff the Eden Center at the Kalkaska Memorial Hospital which has been his home for the past 23 months for a great job of caring for him and keeping him safe and as healthy as possible through his last days. He was an avid Michigan State Spartan fan to his last breath. Praise the Lord for his loving kindness.
