It is with a heavy heart that I present something in Ridgecrest - TopicsExpress

It is with a heavy heart that I present something in Ridgecrest that should NEVER happen. We need accountability in issues like this. Having complained against a police officer before (in Lancaster), I was told that his violating my 4th Amendment rights was in course with his training. Many know my story from a couple years ago. I won my battle in court as well against that officer. But I never thought Id see it here. Who watches the watchmen? Well, I have seen e-mails from all council members except Jim Sanders who state, We trust Chief Ron Strand and we trust the decisions of our RPD. We dont want to create an environment of mistrust (paraphrased). ALL of them said that when confronted by several members of the community regarding the military training our RPD are receiving because of the new SWAT vehicle we now have. There was demand for the council to hold our RPD accountable. That the council needed to oversee the RPD so that the color of authority wouldnt be abused. All council members except Jim Sanders (who never responded to the e-mails) stated that there was no need for that. I beg to differ. In fact, I would demand it if on council. A friend of mine had come home from a bar in a taxi. He went to his front door and realized he had locked himself out of the house. Im sure it was quite humorous to see a drunken retired sailor try and jump a wooden fence, but his neighbors called the police because they did not recognize him in the dark (good neighbors in my opinion). This situation could have easily been resolved with one thing, the police asking for ID. My friend said, I was trying to climb the fence to get into my backyard so I can use my bedroom window to get into my house, instead, all I remember is waking up in the hospital handcuffed to the bed. No charges were pressed. He was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest. However, public intoxication does not apply when you are trying to get into your home and the Sergeant who signed his release said there was insufficient evidence that he resisted arrest. In fact, it stated he was also released due to medical. So, can someone please explain to me how a man trying to get into his home warrants this kind beating? Injuries include facial fracture, nasal bone fracture, head injury, right retrobulbar hemotoma, and facial laceration (closed with staples).
