It is with a heavy heart yet sound mind that I am canceling HOODWEEK Trenton. The overwhelming response of involvement is from individuals who were raised in Trenton, but no longer reside there. That cant work! This was meant to be a COMMUNITY EFFORT. #community Thats really the keyword and I think the message is missed by so many. I am not in competition with organizations in my hometown. If it were about competition, I can honestly say you would be in trouble..I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT MY PEOPLE~ and IM NOT DEPENDENT UPON A CHECK! This was to be a collective effort~ ALL OF US TOGETHER... However, currently I am being choked by the super hero capes from a few individuals who are singlehandedly undermining our efforts... Poverty Pimping is the same old hustle. I cant participate in that. I was willing to take our anniversary money and plunk it into HOODWEEK because these are the things that we say we live for...I was in...but March 29, 2014 at 10am I coordinated a free event for Trenton residents to come and learn something and discuss what they knew with each other about the electoral process with the mayoral election The room has 4 ppl in it. My daughter, my girlfriend, my cousin-in-law and another Trenton resident. That was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Because you know everyone is so busy. LOL. Torrance Hill was willing to donate $500 towards Hoodweek~ #amazing! However, I have no interest in doing, pushing, promoting this event on my own or taking peoples money to pull off something that wont resonate with community members. I you Torrance for caring and Eric Muhammad is still going to do a move night in MLK Park during this weekend. Please reach out to him if youd like to participate in this. People love a #hastag or a paragraph full of heavy words strung together in a weightless message. You all can keep that. Keep working--but let me just remind you that if you arent working together~ than your efforts still wont resonate....young people will continue to die and we will continue to talk about them on social media and how we have to run away from all the killings... I RAN~ AND EVER SINCE I HAVE BEEN REACHING BACK~ OBVIOUSLY MY ARMS ARE NOW TOO SHORT. Im going to focus on my local environment. Everyone who donated to HOODWEEK, your funds will be refunded to you.
