It is with an incredibly heavy heart we write on the recent loss - TopicsExpress

It is with an incredibly heavy heart we write on the recent loss of Janey, to cancer, at the age of 12. It has now been 2 weeks and we have lost count of the tears that have been shed. Although, through the tears, we look back on the time we shared and smile at all the memories. She loved everything with two legs, showering all with kisses, which always used to go down well with people visiting Wimbledon Stadium, where she spent many Saturday nights raising money for her fellow hounds. However, anything with four legs was different ! Unless it was a male greyhound, she was a terrible flirt, or, a boy Labrador - dont ask us where that one came from - attentions were not welcome ! Even during the recent Kempton Park racecourse walk, she sat on her duvet, shouting at any female hound that should dare come near her, or her close friends Charlies Angels. It was lovely to see her friendship with Charlie and the gang grown, starting with cautious hellos when they first met to compulsory ear washing every time she saw them. She really enjoyed her walks, but more so, loved being driven in the car; so many times we would come out of the house, attempt to set off on a walk and would not make it past the back door of the car ! - she loved being chauffeured ! She would do anything for food and would always stand guard by the fridge when she heard the door open, in the hope of a snack. She was a real water baby - diving into whatever water she could find - the muckier the better ! So many people in the past two weeks, have said she was lucky to have us as owners, but, we have to correct them, no, it was us who were the lucky ones. We feel privileged and proud to have been her mum and dad for the past 7 years. Sleep tight our baby girl. Debbie & Chris xx
