It is with deep sorrow that the ANU Community mourns the death of one of its students Jonathan Abisham Shao, who was fatally hit by a speeding truck along the Haile Selassie Avenue on the morning of Wednesday January 15, 2014. At the the of his death, Jonathan was pursuing his BSc in Dry land Natural Resources Management. A Tanzanian national, Jonathan joined ANU in January 2011. His department head Prof. Isaac Kigatiira had this to say upon receiving the news of Jonathans death, The Department and the whole University has lost a dedicated and a focused student. I was Jonathans mentor and he was both a student and a personal friend. We pray that God gives us strength and grace at this time of great loss. Students, faculty and staff will join the family of Jonathan as he is laid to rest on Saturday January 18, 2014 in Moshi, Tanzania. The ANU Community offers its sincere condolences and sympathies to friends and family of Jonathan during their time of grieve. Rest In Peace Jonathan Abisham Shao.
