It is with great pleasure that we share with you the appointment of Mr. John Schwirtz as the newest member of the Board of Directors of Eagle Ridge Academy. Mr. Schwirtz was appointed by a unanimous vote at a Special Meeting of the Board held on January 13, 2015 and was immediately seated to participate in the Board’s regularly held workshop last evening. This appointment was necessary to ensure compliance with The Academy’s Bylaws, as a Community Member is a required component of the Board’s make-up. The term of Mr. Schwirtz’s appointment will be through June 30, 2015. Mr. Schwirtz is well acquainted with Eagle Ridge Academy, as he was a member of the first 7th grade class at Eagle Ridge Academy and graduated six years later as a member of the third graduating class in 2010. As an alumnus of the Academy, Mr. Schwirtz has sought out opportunities to stay connected to his alma mater. In addition to regular visits with faculty, he was invited to speak at the 2014 Gala for Our Pillars to share the impact of his Eagle Ridge education, and this fall he collaborated with the school’s Development Coordinator to write a fundraising appeal to parents.
