It is with great regret and after much deliberation that we must announce that the Costume Contest is cancelled. This has happened for a number of reasons. The first being that we have discovered that several of the photos are not genuine and do not belong to those who submitted them. Secondly, the outpour of complaints regarding insulting comments on the costume photos and regarding our apparent chauvinism for not allowing women to enter has been borderline ridiculous. Thirdly, at the time the contest was implemented, our admins were struggling to keep up with the pace of the page. In TWO months, our followers have gone from 20,000 to over 90,000! We are happy but admittedly overwhelmed! We are just a few people and were overwhelmed by the amount of entries received. Which leads us to reason number four: Some of your submissions were lost in the shuffle and were not posted in a timely manner with everyone elses. This was not fair to anyone in the contest. Our only other option was to restart thr contest, which is, in our opinion a bit of a moot point considering that Halloween is so far past. We intended for the contest to be a fun and exciting way for you to interact with us and we truly apologize for any hurt feelings or disappointment our decision may have caused any of you. Dont despair though-- We will likely hold other contests in the future and will use this experience to learn from our mistakes.
