It is with great sadness I share that I had to allow our girl Dazzledots Instant Karma of Mystre to cross the rainbow bridge this afternoon. She had developed a rapidly growing tumor that surrounded her esophagus and caused it to become too constricted to allow food to pass. We had extensive surgery done to find cause and search for a way to save this wonderful, beautiful friend of ours. Multiple specialty vets were consulted and all were worse than pessimistic. After scoping the esophagus and being unable to pass the scope through they needed to find out if they could remove enough of the surrounding mass to allow her throat to be opened enough to allow nutrition to pass. They were able to get a small opening that would have briefly allowed liquid to enter her but the mass would have grown again and caused the restriction to return. We elected to not have a permanent feeding tube installed as we felt that would not allow a quality of life for her that she deserved. We elected to not have the vet wake her up and have to endure a brief recovery just to have to have her go through another procedure later on. She was never sick a day in her life, screened negative for HCM every year. Karmy came to us from Mara Summers of Dazzledots. This girl was the epitome of Bengal. She was unbelievably sweet and loving. Loved having anyone see her kittens and was so proud of them. She was a fantastic mother. She gave us so many wonderful kittens, among them is the current #3 alter in USA, Mystre A Walk On the Wild Side, aka Raja owned by Keri Marie Crenshaw. This wonderful cat does weekly therapy work in Texas in nursing homes. Just one example of MANY of the cats that Karmy gave to the Bengal world. Karmy loved to ride in the car, loved to go to shows, loved being out on her leash, never knew a stranger. I miss her already, and this will leave a big gaping hole in my heart. I am so very sad right now.
