It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of one of our extremely talented performers - Larry Hurst. Larry started with the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show on May 17, 1994 and his last performance was August 8th, 2014...For over 20 years Larry was an integral part of the Oh Canada Eh? family. His absence will leave such a void in all of the lives that he touched during that time with us. Saturday night, less than 24 hours after Larry had been tragically taken from us the cast and crew put on a brave face and performed for an almost full house. We are so very proud of all of our staff for getting through the night. It showed such true professionalism to be able to get in front of an audience with such emotional turmoil going on inside each and everyone of us. It is something we never would want to experience again...The audience rewarded their efforts with a instant standing ovation as the cast fought to hold back their tears. It wasnt an easy decision to Go on with the Show but the power of music and laughter helped us forget the deep sadness we were all feeling leading up to showtime. Its such a great feeling to know that we provide that gift for audiences every night. We may not see it but we all definitely felt that magic last night! We, along with Larrys family expect to have a wonderful celebration of his life. In the coming days there will be more information regarding funeral arrangements. We will provide those details here as soon as we can.
