It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that I would like - TopicsExpress

It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that I would like to recognize the passing of my dear Auntie Ag. (aka Patty Aggie Henchey) For any of my friends who traveled with me on my annual pilgrimage to Montreal, for The Canadian Grand Prix over the past thirty years, there is a very good chance that you had stayed with my Auntie Ag and Uncle Gordie. I know that many of you have passed along best wishes and prayers for her in recent months, in her valiant battle against cancer. She passed away this morning, a day after her 89th birthday. Ag was a very special lady indeed and had so many gifts that she shared with the world. While music was one of her greatest gifts, a passion to become an author was astounding to me, in her eightieth year on this planet she published her first book Travelling Light in 2004, which would document many of the 40+ years that she would work in the travel industry. Agnes would later go on to publish a childrens book entitled Nikkis World in 2011, named after her youngest granddaughter and published her third book in 2012 entitled This N That which was a collection of short stories and anecdotes. I have never met anyone who could hold an audience captive with her ability to weave a wonderful story and at the piano, my aunt had a gift like nobody I have ever met. Although Agnes never had a formal piano lesson, her ability to strike up the band and play ANYTHING by ear was mind numbing to me. If you could hum a melody - my Aunt would play you the song with full accompaniment, whether familiar with it or not. In her eighty-second year, she decided that attending an Elton John concert was a must ! And through the kindness of several of my cousins, they made sure that Ag was able to see Elton live, in concert. Auntie Ag, I will always be in awe of you and everything that you do for me, my friends and so many others, whose lives you have touched in more ways than any of us will ever know or comprehend. The kindness and love that always came from you was such a gift and the things that you taught me throughout my life will stay with me forever. While I am sad that you have gone on your journey to a better place, I know that you will be looking out for all of us left in your wake. My heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies go out to all of my cousins in the Henchey clan. There is nothing that I can say to you all, that will be of comfort to you at the moment, but know that myself and my family are with you in love, the kindest of thoughts and prayers and warmest wishes that your Mother is at peace and will be watching over us all with a kinder eye and a loving heart. Much love to you all and thank you for everything Auntie Ag, but mostly for showing me through example how to BE through a life well lived. I love you and will miss you terribly, Tim. XO
