It is with great sadness that I just found out that winery owner Frank Cassara passed away back in March. I met Frank last winter at the Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association winter conference that was held in Springfield. I was looking forward to seeing him again this year so that I could continue to tap into his Concord grape growing and wine making expertise. Frank Angelo Cassara - 83 4/2/1930 - 3/23/2014 Crete resident formerly of Chicagos Brighton Park area Frank A. Cassara, age 83. Longtime Crete resident, formerly of Chicago’s Brighton Park area/St. Agnes Parish. Retired Laborer for Local 1006. Proud proprietor of Easy Street Vineyards & Winery. U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Husband for 60 years of Shirley nee Ries. Father of Robert Cassara and Karen (Dennis) Addison. Devoted “Papa” of Michelle Cassara and Nick and Sam Addison. “Big Papa” of Maxim Cassara. Brother of Benita (Henry) DeLulio, and the late Carrie Lysek and Theodore (Dorothy Spillane) Cassara. Brother-in-law of the late Kenneth (late Norma) Ries. Loving uncle and dear friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (US Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave) Chicago Heights on Tuesday March 25th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services Wednesday morning 10:00 AM.
