It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of Cllr. Chris Underwood-Frost, who represented the Scotter Rural Division on Lincolnshire County Council and Scotter Ward on West Lindsey District Council. His passing on Thursday afternoon, last week, following his heroic battle with cancer, will touch all of us. Chris was a dedicated representative, fighting for the people he represented right up to the end. He was first elected to West Lindsey District Council in 1999 and was subsequently re-elected in 2003, 2007 and 2011. At the 2007 local elections Chris was re-elected to his seat when, tied with the Liberal Democrat candidate, both having received 781 votes, the peculiarities of the electoral system came into play and Chris secured re-election by virtue of a coin-toss. In 2001 he was successful during the local election to Lincolnshire County Council in gaining the seat for the Scotter Rural Division, securing re-election in 2005, 2009 and, most recently, in 2013. In the 2004-2005 Civic Year he served as Chairman of West Lindsey District Council. From December 2009 he served with distinction as Chairman of West Lindsey District Council’s Planning Committee, a role he relinquished in September 2013. He also served on the Lincolnshire Police Authority. Cllr. Underwood-Frosts funeral will take place at All Saints Parish Church, Gainsborough on Monday, 28th October at 1:00pm. A private family service will take place at Woodlands Crematorium, Scunthorpe. The family would like to invite as many of Chris colleagues to join them at the Golf Club in Gainsborough. We offer our deepest sympathy to the family at this sad time.
