It is with great sadness that we heard of the death of Elizabeth O’Connor, Literary Manager at The Court. Elizabeth passed away in hospital in Auckland on Friday 25th July. She had collapsed in her motel room after attending the production of Putorino Hill at Q Theatre which was commissioned by The Court with Taki Rua Theatre whose production Elizabeth was attending. Like so many plays over her career she had nurtured and developed the script of Putorino Hill with dexterity, skill and insight. But above all with her deep and abiding love of theatre, and love of those who practise it. She commanded in her field and was widely respected. We mourn her departure and grieve for the passing of one of us, one of our family – the family of the wide theatre community as well as at The Court. May she rest in peace. We will be organising a fitting memorial for Elizabeth and will post details soon.
