It is with great sadness that we mourn the death of Sami Odeh, who passed away on June 6, 2013, after suffering from a long illness. We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the Odeh family, particularly his wife Lisa and each person Sami loved and influenced during his lifetime. A dedicated Palestinian and Arab American activist, Sami worked tirelessly to achieve justice for his brother, Alex Odeh. Alex, 41 at the time, was assassinated in October of 1985 at the ADC OC Chapter Headquarters. ADC President Warren David sent a condolence letter to Lisa Odeh this week, writing that ADC is, and will continue to be, committed to justice for all Arab Americans. Warren also promised to continue to work to fulfill Sami’s desire to see justice served for his brother’s assassination. We regret that Sami Odeh never lived to see justice served for Alex’s death, but are hopeful that this case will be solved soon. Last week, after being contacted by ADC, Congresswoman Sanchez sent a letter to the Attorney General and FBI, requesting and update Alex Odeh’s murder.
