It is with great sorrow that the DSA receives the news of educational institutions across the country closing. We understand that there are very legitimate security concerns right now, and we understand that the horror that was perpetuated in Peshawar has everyone worried for their loved ones and students especially. We are in no way saying that the institutions should have remained open in a situation that would put more lives in danger. But we do wish to ask questions. Questions about how much ground were willing to concede to fear. Questions about balancing security concerns and increasing this atmosphere of fear in the name of safety. Questions about how were going to break this atmosphere of fear, how were going to move forward not backward from here. Questions about how we got here in the first place. These are questions we dont have full answers to.
