It is with heavy heart that I must tell you that my little Lamar - TopicsExpress

It is with heavy heart that I must tell you that my little Lamar passed across the rainbow bridge today. In a bond that no non animal lover can understand, he was my companion and friend for 12 years. When I went through two periods of acute illness he stood by my bed nudging me to get up and I did what I could to make him comfortable since the cancer diagnosis a little over 3 months ago. While all animals are special, Lamar ran, jumped and nudged his way as an all star of animals in the Flickinger family. His mother , Agnes, was a stray Ohio City cat and decided to use my side yard as her place to have her kittens. The leaking faucet and the next door dumpster with leftover food and pizza was the purrrfect place for a mother cat with 5 kittens. When I heard crying in the bushes, I first found a huge face surrounded by a body of fur and knew that this guy of the five would be mine. While I am very sad today, I remember a plaque outside the OSU vet clinic, If love could cure your illness, you would have lived forever. While I wanted Lamar to live for many more years, I know I gave him a good life and a much better life than any cat on the streets. I know that he is free of that tumor that was ravaging his body and I also have a feeling that my grandmother, the original cat lady, is up there welcoming him with her Here kitty kitty call and feeding him all the cat milk, sirloin burgers, chicken and all the belly rubs he wants.
