It is with much sadness and a heavy heart that I must announce I will no longer kept a studio space in downtown Whitesburg. I’ve done a lot of soul searching, and praying in this decision and feel it’s the best route for me and my family. With this being said, I will be cutting down tremendously on the amount of photography I will be doing. I will not stop completely as photography is a part of me. Its something I absolutely love to do, but it is also a career path that is all consuming. I am literally on call 24/7, I find that I have little down time with my children due to the business aspect that comes with running Lann Photography. I cannot even begin to describe the journey I have been on the last couple of years. I never dreamed I could take a hobby that began in childhood and turn it into something amazing, fun, and creative. I have met so many wonderful families, documented so many milestones in every avenue of life, and collaborated with other amazing artists for projects that were beyond fun. At this time, I am returning to school to finish my Master’s Degree in Education and explore the career path of teaching. It is a journey I started before having twins and now that my own children will be entering school full time, I feel its time to continue on that path. This, of course, means that I will be slowing down with Lann Photography. I will honor those who have purchased prepay sessions. Please contact me to set up a time and date. Also - I will continue to do in-home portraiture sessions. I find that I really enjoy these sessions (coming to your home and photographing your family). I’ve said so many times that some of the best places I have ever photographed a family as been in their own home, or in their own front yard. It is the most personable as well. In addition, I will continue to do Newborn Sessions only instead of the session taking place in my studio, I will come to your home and photograph your little one and the family in natural surroundings. Outdoor portraiture I will continue to do as well. It is, by far, my favorite type of portraiture, and where I initially started with photography. I will also offer workshops on Photography which I am now in the process of planning. I will have more information on is as comes available, but the workshops are set to take place at the end of January (2015). You will be seeing a lot of “unfinished” photography projects come to light. Many of these projects were put on a “stand still” due to time, but I hope to work more on these and collaborate with other Artists to begin new projects. My last day at the Lann Photography Studio in Downtown Whitesburg will be February 10th (last day for appointments). I will be keeping this face book page to post pictures and information. I will also be keeping my website. All online galleries will remain intact and you can still view and order prints. Nothing will change there. Thank you to all those for their patience and most of all for their understanding. Its been an amazing journey. I’ve made so many new friends and met some amazing people.
