It is with sadness that I share the passing of our beloved head - TopicsExpress

It is with sadness that I share the passing of our beloved head cook, John. John went to sleep last night to never awake on this earth again. John was beloved by all at New Beginnings. He was one of the best cooks I have met in Kenya. He was always ready to pitch in and do what ever needed to be done at New Beginnings. From preparing all the meals, treating classrooms for insects, to disciplining a child and/or loving a child in need. He has worked faithfully for New Beginnings since early 2012. His absence will be greatly felt. He once shared with me, that before coming to work at New Beginnings, he was a drunkard. He said that since he was hired he turned his life around and gave it to the Lord. He went from being a drunkard to being highly respected in his community and especially loved and respected at New Beginnings. This past year he was sharing with me about how he was now, also helping his community by volunteering as a community health worker, in his spare time. John leaves behind one wife and 6 children. Three of his children attend New Beginnings primary school. One attends secondary school. He also has a son whom he cared for who is mentally disabled. His absence will create a huge loss to his family and New Beginnings. He was the sole bread winner for them. We know that John awoke in a better place this morning. To him, we say See you later, John. You were loved. Rest in peace. If anyone would like to donate to help his family, we will be taking donations for our beloved John the cook who was also lovingly know at the center as talow (which means leader). We will also be looking for sponsors to care for his young children. shalomchristianmissions.org
