It is with the heaviest of hearts that Rob and I announce Dill - TopicsExpress

It is with the heaviest of hearts that Rob and I announce Dill crossed the rainbow bridge last night. His mother called us to let us know that the test results had come back positive for an aggressive form of cancer, and poor Dill was in so much pain. We went to say our goodbyes. He passed away in his parents arms, knowing he was so very loved. He was so lucky to have had the most amazing parents, even if only for a few days. Our deepest sympathies are with his forever family, who we wish so much had more time with him, and our prayers are with him while they mourn losing him. We hope you all will take a moment to send positive energy, well wishes, or prayers their way. Dill was a very, very special dog. We know how he touched the lives of so many people he met, and even those of you he hadnt. As painful as it is, and as saddened as we are that this little guy didnt have more time with the family he deserved so much, we are grateful too. We are grateful to have had him in our lives. We are grateful that this little dog, who was found caked in mud and wandering the streets knew what it was (maybe for the first time) to be be loved, and to have the perfect forever family. And that he had the love of not just his forever family, not just his fosters, but a whole community. Not many dogs, or people, are so fortunate to be genuinely loved by so many. Thank you all. Dill deserved to have so much more than he was given in this life, more time with his family, not being dumped on the street, I could go on. But all the love and support he recieved proves there is still so much good out there for the other dogs who also deserve so much more. Knowing that doesnt fix the pain, but it at least reassures me that perhaps Dills message might transcend this page, and his too short life, and help another dog just like him. As we take time to regroup and process what has happened, you may see us having less of an online presence. But we will be back, to honor the memory of Dill. We wish more than anything we could have given him and his family more. He deserved more. So we will be back. With a new name (Dills Dogs), and a new feature foster. And with the fondest memories of the sweetest little dog that quite possibly ever lived. We will see you all soon. And again, thank you for all your support through this whole process.
