It just struck me today! We really dont really need churches or preachers anymore! I mean we have all these radio personalities and TV reporters who are the new experts on all matters of morality! Even sports commentators telling us how to raise our kids and ranting and raving about anyone who dares raise a hand against their child because some brutish football player abused his! Really? The press has become the new clergy filling the airwaves and society with its authoritative version of a new type of virtue based upon subjective personal opinion, often defending and promoting the most recent perversion of the week, while at the same time enthusiastically broadcasting the sins and failures of others. I guess this is what we deserve when we turn our backs on the Bible as our true authority on things that really matter! We have become just like the Israelites, Gods chosen people, who during the darkest period in their history, likewise did what was right in their own eyes. At least we still have the Jim Romes of the airwaves to lead us to the light!
