It makes me sad though. When are trans lives going to matter to society? To other people? Its an epidemic, almost, how many trans women are being lost to senseless, hate-fueled violence. I have a favor to ask you guys, and its super easy. Because you see, violence starts with simple shit, like using the hate-word tranny. We have all been guilty of it. But come on guys, its not cool! Thats because its a slur-- one that has been used to demean and hurt transgender people for decades, much like the n-word and pretty much any other negative term for minorities you know. This word is the last thing many trans women hear before being beaten and murdered:( Thats not to say some transgender people havent claimed the word back so to speak. Thats cool for them, I know gay guys who use the word fag freely. The excuse is something like words are just words, you can attach whatever meaning you want to them. Ehh personally Im not about it. Because I know that this slur is real, and that reinforcing its use only makes people think its okay to demean and dehumanize us. If I could ask all of you guys one thing, it would be to stop using the word tranny. Its just not nice! Would you ever shout the n-word at someone when theyre walking down the street? Do you make fun of every person you see who is a little different than you? We all just wanna live our lives! We want to be happy. And we want to be respected as human beings. Tranny is a hateful word. Think about how easy it would be to just call us trans men and trans women : ) It will make US feel better AND you! Youll be putting a stop to ignorance. No one deserves to be made fun of for who they are. Every life is precious!! Trans lives matter. I believe that if everyone stops using the word tranny, it will be a great and easy way to build societal acceptance, which leads to less violence and hatred. Thanks for listening friends :)
