It may be difficult for some to see the distinction being made. But its critical to our faith and in growing in spiritual maturity, to understand the difference in knowing the right doctrine and even following it; and developing a dependence on Gods love, forgiveness and grace. I need the latter because no matter how hard I may try to do the former, I fail and stand condemned without Gods grace. Once I truly get that concept, the importance of scriptural or doctrinal correctness is not ignored, but it no longer drives all of my energy of its pursuit. It also may allow me to recognize the faith of others who dont always see Scripture exactly as I do. Gods grace does not require doctrinal perfection or else we are all damned. This frees me to learn from others not of my fellowship who can enable me to grow my faith through new proddings by the Holy Spirit. Not all who are in dwelled by the HS worship with acapella churches of Christ.
