It might of been windy and grey this morning, but there was nothing gloomy with the U13 girls performance. Swanage were the opponents and after adapting to the conditions we were soon 1 up through Jenna Howard who turned faster than Usain Bolt, to score her first goal of the season. Our answer to tinkerbell, Lucy Cooke, soon made it 2, appearing from nowhere to pick up a rebound and shot smartly past the goalkeeper. SuperWoman aka Helen Corbin made it 3 before half time, bulldozing her way through the Swanage defence and calmly placing the ball into the onion bag. Swanage pulled one back before half time. HT 3-1. 2nd half and with the wind behind our opponents they soon scored their 2nd of the game. However Lani Phillips restored our goals advantage by showing better dancing skills than Michael Flatley, waltzing past 3 opponents and finding the bottom corner,4-2. Lani then scored her 2nd through fine close control and the game finished in our 5-2 victory. We have performed better but credited to the team for adapting their game as we played many out of position today and the conditions werent easy.
