It never ceases to amaze me why low percentage (harness) drivers insist on pulling LONGSHOTS, then dont go one step forward. This goes along with my opinion of about a week ago when I suggested that (provisional drivers) saving ground could result in a higher and more money earning finish. And if your thought is, well, hes giving him a chance, then quite frankly, thats rubbish! Hes giving him a chance to lose! I saw on Facebook this past weekend where one of the top drivers in North America was very critical of his drive in a BIG PURSE race. You could truly read into his post how disappointed he was with his drive. I watched the race and Im sure if he had to do it over, hed have driven much differently. What shocked me was not the compassion the many friends this gentleman has from his fellow Facebook friends, but that a good amount of them said that he drove fine, he gave the horse a shot, he went down fighting. I asked myself, didnt these people read what he constructively said about his drive? If Im not mistaken, the 5th place check in that race was $34,000!! How is it that he himself felt TERRIBLE about not getting them any money, yet people, who of course are entitled to their opinion, just shrug it off. I want to be CLEAR here, Im NOT being critical of the drive! Im just left to scratch my head that some people dont see what this driver expressed to them, which I guess would mean that they dont see it through his eyes, nor the eyes of the connections. At the end of the day, its a non issue, our health and our family & friends health is all that matters! But I still needed to communicate!
