It pains me to see so much hatred toward Israel in the recent weeks and find it difficult to reason with people whom are morally obligated to speak out against atrocities to humanity. Why do I find is difficult? Because I too sympathise and empathise towards the citizens of the Gaza Strip. It is devastating that innocent civilians are dying as a result of a conflict that is almost 100 years old. However, it is only during these heated periods of the conflict that the middle eastern conflict are thrust into the public eye and I believe this is why there are so many people see that the causalities are disproportionate, assume that the side with less casualties must be the aggressor and therefore must be the bad guy. The state of Israel was legitimately established after a UN vote in 1948 you can see that the conflict has been active longer than the past 2 weeks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Israel Together these individual conflicts weave a larger tapestry that can tell a more accurate story of the middle eastern conflict, and it slowly become clear that the palestinian people have not been denied an independent free palestine by Israel, but rather the leaders of the various leaders of the palestinian people. Leaders like Yassa Arafat, whom embezzled billions of dollars of foreign aid sent to help the palestinian people. Leaders like the Mahmud Abbas of who would rather put the safety of his citizens second to the hate filled doctrine of Hamas which refuses Israels right to exist. I do wish for peace to be achieved in the middle east as I have family and friends who live in Israel and am concerned for their safety. In fact this war has directly affected my family as my father had a duty to protect his friends and family in more that one of these wars. Until there is a mutual desire between the leaders of the Palestinians and zionists for peace and safety for the people on the other side of the border there can only be war. So please continue posting articles about the middle eastern conflict, because after the next cease fire or it will fall from the international spotlight and will perpetuate ongoing conflict. There are no winners in war only losers.
