It;s pretty sad that a local, well-known automotive-related business that offers mechanic work on the side quoted a man $4,000 to repair a vehicle - claiming he needed a NEW engine and the wiring harness was corroded. The man called Dean ( who has done loads of work for him over the years) and it may cost him around $600 to fix the vehicle - no new engine needed and the wiring harness is like new. How often does this happen - dealerships and shops being dishonest about repairs? Another man spent oodles at a local dealership and the van didnt get fixed. Dean told him the truth - the van wasnt worth the money it would take to fix it. I wonder just how many people have been scammed by dishonest businesses doing shady things like this?
