It saddens me that people are using the death of a teenage boy as a platform to compete against others races and argue about which race is treated the worst. I think this is out of control and that as Americans we should all be ashamed for making this a competition. We ALL have the world at our fingertips. We are making ourselves the laughing stock in other countries by being completely ridiculous. There is no race, age, or gender that is treated worse. If anything those who are treated worse are our teachers, nurses, military members, & law enforcement. These people NO MATTER their race work to protect and serve our community day in and day out with little pay, decreasing benefits, and little to no recognition. They are the first ones who have budgets cut; pay freezes, & increased hours. They work tirelessly to serve and gain no appreciation. I believe in raising awareness about what you are passionate about but there is a way to do this with some class and not bashing others in the process. I am not for or against President Obama(I agree & disagree with some of his tactics) I respect him because he is a person, my husband’s commander in chief, and signs my paychecks every week however him as a leader could have and should have played a bigger part in uniting this nation this nation on this matter.
