It seems almost as though you somehow knew that you would be - TopicsExpress

It seems almost as though you somehow knew that you would be leaving us soon , but we were oblivious to the signs; how you vaguely mentioned at out last birthday breakfast together just 2 months ago that it just might be your last. How you would constantly joke over our evening tea about how you were, to use your exact words, sick and tired of everything, and wed later laugh it off. How, during our long conversations about stories youd previously told me only 10 times before, I would stare into your eyes and notice the depth of sadness which Ive only now come to understand. In having come to personally know you in just a span of 2 years, I have grown to love a strong woman, constantly misunderstood, with a genuine heart of gold and undying kindness and generosity. I always told myself that I would one day repay you for your kindness and all youve done for me. I see now that I can only do so by living by the lessons and morals youve molded in me, paramount of which are love, humility and kindness. My dearest Nana Maggie, I shall forever remember you in 2 ways. One being watching you daily sit in your usual chair by the door staring out into the view outlooking the ocean, content and happy, and the other during our last meeting before I left. How you gave me quite an earbashing about packing way too much clothes for just a months trip but later kissing me on the cheek and embrasing me in one of your warm hugs wishing me a safe trip and saying, dont you dare return without my Samoan sulus, fans and a basket. Im thankful the good Lord gave me a chance to say goodbye, little did I know that was to be the last time I would ever see you again. My heart goes out to Uncle Tony Peters, Aunt Tupou, Lizabeth, Ruth, small Paul, Aunt Lynette Aitcheson and the two girls, Aunt Betty Dlg Ichiro and the family in Saipan and the entire Peters clan. On a final note, I shall go to the Christmas Vigil Mass later this evening and be thankful to one amazing person who so lovingly opened her doors to welcome and house a very lost youth, + his 3 suitcases, who was so broken at the time. I shall truly and eternally be grateful to you. Thank you Nana Mags for everything. I shall miss you every day. P.s. say hi to my Nana Zita from me.
