It seems everywhere I turn to these days the world is singing the same song free yourself from your mind and find your heart. For those of us embarking in a conscious journey of personal transformation this message presents us with many challenges. The fear seems to come first, that of unknowingly freeing your mind to a dogmatic collective and only perceive this when you are far too deep in it. Passed that there comes the acceptance nothing is perfect, so as long as it does not kill, you allow yourself to get intertwined with the thing shinning light on your path. Then you learn freeing your mind does not mean science is bad or that logic is flawed, and that in fact they will help you the most in deepening your journey with a trusting heart. Passed that I found myself in this now of awareness, a moment when you realise the practice youve chosen for this transformation is only but one in a sea of methods, traditions, approaches and lifestyles. As I came to reconcile with this de-godification a soothing image played in my mind, that I was lost in a calm sea with only the view of a small patch of land to aim for, although it is sunny and the sea is calm and my heart is calm my body is tired of threading water. Then a floating piece of wood from some wreckage passes within reach and I reach for it. In that instant when my body feels it can rest on the floating wood it relaxes and I know I will reach shore. But I also realise that is not the piece of wood who saves me, or neither the wreckage where it came from or the fact that it floats. I realise my mind woke up in the moment I stop looking for land to look around and see the floating wood, and that reaching for it is what saves me. May the light of the full moon this weekend shine brighter on what you need and have always surrounded you, may that be a friend, a spiritual practice, meditation, energy transmission, a bar of snickers or the safe hideaway beneath your sheets. It does not matter what, as I am finding the important thing is to just reach for it.
