It seems like each treatment is harder and harder on him. Today - TopicsExpress

It seems like each treatment is harder and harder on him. Today was a rough day. I had a hard time looking calm on the outside and freaking out on the inside. Before treatment started he was given a nebulizer treatment because he was still sounding tight and wheezing. After it started, Wes was in a lot of pain in his arms and had pain alongside pins and needles in his feet. He had one dilaudid rescue. His heartrate dropped quickly to 48/28 so he was given two boluses of fluid. During that his mouth started swelling - lips, gums, tongue, etc. Wes was panicking, terrified he wasnt going to be able to breathe. He begged and pleaded to have to benadryl to help it but he couldnt and we had to wait because of his low pressure. All the while his heartrate was in the 180s. This went on for a while and Wes was getting really upset. Finally his blood pressure came up some and they were able to give him benadryl. In the meantime his lungs still sounded tight so he needed more breathing treatments. After a long day Wes ended up getting 4 nebulizer treatments. He also had his nuclear injection today. I hated seeing him that way and I wonder if the next treatment will be this complicated. Wes is doing okay now, still coughing. Tomorrow is the MIBG scan.
