It seems like values have changed with the times. Where once upon a time commitment to any-thing meant something...if we gave our word, our word was everything. Commitment did not end when we became uncomfortable, impatient, intolerable or unwilling to change ourselves for something or someone else that we say is important to us. Too many relationships & too many dreams left unfinished because we didnt have the character to stand in them when the going got tough. People have learned to bail...to default to what is comfortable for them or to the choice that holds the least resistance. Which has left some of the most beautiful things in life that COULD have been possible with a little more belief, drive, commitment, loyalty and an unwillingness to give up when the road got rough. Our greatest LEADERS faced adversity & situations that called them to stand IN and FOR what they believed in...and yet we somehow think that if the journey is a little difficult then we need to turn around & go back to our safe place. Not everyone wants to be a leader or is willing to call upon their own courage, character, values and drive to make those BIG decisions...but there will always be times in our life that call us to be. Who we show up as will tell us who we are at our core. God sends us the BIG things so he can strengthen us for who HE needs us to be. Will we stand up or succumb to the worldly temptation of the easy road? Our answer/actions will show who we really are. ..and THAT is the Truth.
