It seems obvious to me that the Formal Majority are the ones who have gone mad. The normal has become absurd. Perhaps it is my moments of apparent insanity that have kept me sane in the long run. An escape from being subject to other’s realities, caused by sheer disbelief in their unconsciousness. In those moments I was unreachable, utilizing learned helplessness out of frustration, disappointment, and disillusionment. My hysterical mechanisms were nothing more than an expression of pain and exhaustion externalized. I remain alienated, but no longer asleep. Now, I am just an observer in this buffet of choices called life. Letting go of my attachment to their outcome certainly improved mine. ~RM
