It seems stealing copyrighted material is ok by the #LNP According to ABC TV news 25/01/2015, the use of this video by the #LNP marks a new low point in the 2015 Queensland election campaign. The LNP did not seek permission to use this video for their #YouTube account and #facebook smear ads and I have made copyright complaints to YouTube, Facebook, the LNP Secretariat, and the Courier Mail, who ran a story featuring the video. I also posted a letter notifying the LNP of my assertion of copyright infringement among their Facebook comments. From my point of view, the LNP edited propaganda version does not constitute fair use and infringes my copyright. As a documentary maker, if I want to selectively edit archival news footage, I understand that I need to make permission requests and pay royalties to respective copyright owners.
