It seems the name Johnsonville is now synonymous to the phrase bad roads. The situation with our roads in Johnsonville, especially the main route connecting to Mt. Barclay, is just too bad and words are insufficient to describe the hassle residents and commuters have to grapple with on a daily basis. Herein, we will admonish residents to buckle up and take it upon themselves to get involved in community action to bring the needed relief to our beloved Johnsonville. We must realize that it is upon us to change our situation here and now. We must pick up our shovels, axes, diggers, wheel barrows, etc and get to work. As we all know, the rainy season has just but begun. This is only July. So my bet is that the roads can only get worse. I encourage all and sundry to be part of the regular Saturday Group Work that begins in earnest on Saturday, 12th July 2014. Do what you can to support the mending of our roads and alleviate the suffering of our people. Lastly, is there any way all these heavy vehicles can be stopped from using our roads during this period of heavy rains? Take it that no matter how hard we work to mend the roads, it simply will be damaged whenever these heavy vehicle use them. We need to have these vehicles stopped until the roads(soil) are dry/hard again. Can the Commissioners Office assist in this direction or do we need some community action to get this done? Please weigh in on this one and lets get our roads working again.
