Tom Hinchey — January 22, 2015 Comedian and talk show host Dennis Miller was a guest on The O’Reilly Factor to discuss the blockbuster motion picture American Sniper about the late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. “Chris Kyle’s an American hero. May he rest in peace. Thank God for men like him.” Bill O’Reilly defended the movie from critics like Michael Moore and Seth Rogen, saying it showed honor and courage. Miller quipped, “We have the right to be as big of idiots as we want in this country and a lot of people prove it on a weekly basis. The only guy who affords that is a guy like Kyle on a roof in some crap town, keeping good people alive and killing bad people. He’s heaven sent. They’re heroes for the ages. Iconic figures. Thank God for men like Chris Kyle.” O’Reilly praised director Clint Eastwood for not glorifying violence, but showing the suffering that Kyle and his family endured. The Fox News host expressed his annoyance at Moore, Rogen, and various reviewers for their disrespectful comments. Miller repeated his appreciation for the brave men and women who remove the evil people from our world. “Rest in peace Chris Kyle. Thank you for affording me the life I have as a free American.”
