It should come as no surprise to any of you who know Tom Bagby that his new brunch menu at Bottletree is superb. My best bud Bert and I were there at eleven sharp this morning. I had the Y2K savory bacon bread pudding with greens and creamy tomato gravy and Bertie had the omelet served with shrimp cream. (The shrimp were perfectly cooked. And I do mean perfectly cooked.) Then we decided to share the catfish and grits. Dear God. I dont know what the sauce was that was drizzled over that transcendent affair, but it was sublime. It was all sublime.
