“It shouldn’t make a difference what neighborhood you live in,” says comptroller Scott M. Stringer. “Every student in New York City should have the opportunity to receive a strong education in the arts.” We agree. Thats why Socrates Sculpture Park just launched a major expansion to our free arts education program. Last year, demand for our free art classes was so high that we had to turn away students for the very first time. This year, with generous seed funding from Shelley and Donald Rubin, we were able to expand our outdoor education area and extend our season into spring and fall months, and partner directly with our local public high schools.
