It so happened that the conception and planning of the project happened on WhatsApp, which my niece has no access to, since she didn’t own a mobile phone. What followed was a face-off between mother and daughter, during which the pros and cons of owning a mobile were hurled back and forth. Needless to say, my experienced sister won the war of words and put across that the young lady was not yet eligible for a mobile — adding that if her gang really wanted her to be part of the project, they could have called on the mother’s mobile or the landline.
