It started last night, this unusual Christmas feeling. Im calling it gratitude. Is that a feeling associated with Christmas? Seriously, I do not know. I grew up without Christmas and the other holidays, and never celebrated any of them. Every year I watched others get all excited about them, but it was as though I were forever to be an outcast to their joyous party. But, last night, something began to happen. I felt very peaceful, and full of gratitude for all that I have--the wonderful friends and the amazing experience of being alive. I sit here on the couch, with the tv displaying a fire, and my cat Biscuit is curled up against me. It doesnt feel like any ordinary day.
