It started with a shock and ended with a shock right here in Rhiwbina Village!!! Grab a cuppa, sit back and just look at what weve got here! Just back from delivering the posters around the businesses in Rhiwbina Village and got to go in EVERY shop which was great fun and chatted to all. I started in Coral and bumped into someone who looked mortified when i appeared (I hope he backed a winning horse to make up for the moment!!), moved onto Tenovus and met Emma who has loads of ideas for next Summers fayre already, popped into Spar before all the school kids got in the queue :-), Popped into Haus who were busy unpacking lots of new stock, lovely chat in Victoria Fearne but tried not to look because it was only my 4th shop and id be stoney broke the way i was going!!! Caught up with the lady from Lloyds who i remember her grandson being born in the street and the ambulance moment and being shocked that it was 6 years ago! Quick dash into muddy bum (too energetic for me so nothing to tempt me) and a chance to pop into the new Vanity Rooms and meet them. Got to see the xmas window that New Roots are working on, the smell of the launderettes took me back to when I had to wear a suit to work. Had a chat with Kingman Opticians (doh, i should have made an appointment whilst i was there!) and a good chat with Threads too. Saw a lovely bag in the dress agency that i may have to go back for, had the opportunity to go into Hannahs bridal shop and GASP at its beautifulness, all twinkly and stunning. Popped into the bustling hairdressers before getting to nip into Cwtch too - what a gorgeous shop that is, all welsh sourced gifts and I did buy in there but cant tell you what cos its xmas stocking goodies! Loved the aroma in the flower lodge, met the owner and her lovely dog in the bead shop, got to go in the other new shop Ginger Whites and wow, what a variety of not just beautiful paintings, but notelets, bags and gifts too. Rupert from Snails caught me in there, so we had a giggle and I continued to the Wine Store where I definately went in with my blinkers on! Charged into The Canolfan, up the hill to Natwest and The Gateway of India (resisted the urge to pinch a freebie pakora) over the road to the chiropracter (i could probably do with a spine check), Fragrance and oh my word it smelt beautiful. Charged over the road - i had been out for 2 hours by now yacking - Heather in The Garden Village Garage has been very busy having a right ol clear out. Fabulous unique home furnishings! Next was Lloyds the estate agents, Emyr Pierce Solicitors and Nest which again, looked at NOTHING! Senors the barber was lovely and busy coiffing hair! I enjoyed a spot of impromptu french chit chat with Monsieur Sugar Mouse Maison!!! The Juboraj was closed which was a pity as i had a bit of a thirst on by now *wink*. Luckily Parsons was shut so again nothing to tempt me! Popped into Serenade to update their collection tin for people to give their loose change towards the new xmas lights. Managed to catch Rayboulds the butcher before he finished for the day (resisted the urge to have a mirander moment playing in the chains on his door), The Olive Branch was closed which was a pity, cos theyre always good for a chat too :-) but moved onto Coco and theyre definately good for a chat, so quick natter there! Edwards was on route too whove had a lovely re-furb so i got to have a nose at that too, poppped into the dentist and finished at Cartwright Travel who I discovered employs a lovely chap called Steven who i last saw when we were in college together studying travel and tourism and infact i still have a photo of me and him larking about on a what was called a work study week in Magaluf!!!!! Im sure ive missed a shop out and im sorry if i have. But whod have thought all this was just in the village. Other shops and businesses to do, but maybe once ive thawed!
