It surely is in the books of history that, on this date 10th of December 1963, Zanzibar had attained its Independece from the British as their suppossedly partner in the Union (Tanganyika) gained theirs on 9th December, 1961. Despite of the dispute there is about this date, the importance of it is to commemorate the end of the British Colonial Era in the Islands, gaining our freedom and be honored and recognized internationally as a free nation, free to decide our own fate economically, socially, and politically without interference from other nation(s). I believe the wisdom should take its course and give this date its due respect.
