It takes a long time to develop as an artist. Mastering a craft doesnt happen overnight. I think our cultural obsession with fame can trick you into thinking it has to happen overnight but the truth is that it takes years to develop good work. The size of the audience isnt whats important. An audience of one or a hundred or a thousand or million ALL deserve good work. Sometimes I get so defeated because I feel like Im so far behind but thats when I know Ive let my focus slip. The integrity of the work is everything. Make good work that seeks to inspire and uplift your audience, consistently grow and get better and serve the audience you DO have. The work should matter to you whether or not youre famous. If it matters to you and you make it good, the right people will notice. Create with wild abandon. Try things that scare you and challenge you. You dont know what youre capable of until you try.
